Dino Story Mode
Story Mode is the Chrome dinosaur game with one thing added: coins. The T-Rex, the desert, the cacti and the pterodactyls all behave exactly as they do in the original endless runner, but now there's something to pick up while you're dodging.
There are no level targets and no win screen here — it's a free run. You go until you crash, and the question is how far you got and how much you collected on the way.
How to play
- Space or Up arrow — jump. Tap the screen on mobile.
- Down arrow — duck under high-flying pterodactyls.
- S — toggle sound on and off.
Coins sit along the ground and at jump height. Grabbing the high ones means committing to a jump early, which is exactly when a cactus tends to appear — so the coin count and the distance count pull against each other.
What carries over from the classic game
The run speeds up continuously, pterodactyls only appear once you're moving fast enough, and at 700 points the screen inverts into night mode. None of that changes how the game plays — the night flip is cosmetic — but it does make obstacles harder to read at speed.
Playing at school or work
Story Mode runs entirely in the browser. There is nothing to download, nothing to install and no account to create, so it works on school Chromebooks, library computers and restricted office networks wherever the page loads. It's touch-ready on phones and tablets, and works with your connection on or off.
Other dino games here
Want objectives instead of a free run? Dino Runner sets a distance and coin target for each of ten levels, and Dino World lays them out on a map you unlock as you clear them. For the original with no coins at all, play the classic dinosaur game.
